Hmmmm . . .
Is there a Linux replacement for Access? As in a program that can open and be used to continue running existing Access databases?

I know that 'Open Office' does very well opening and working on (and with) existing Microsoft Office files. (Except for Access.)

Open Office also has a database program called 'Base' . . . But there would be a whole new learning curve involved in trying to port my Access database over to it.

I used to follow, and find out about, free & open source software from new release info posted on linuxtoday. Then, probably 5+ years ago, they suddenly stopped posting new software releases. I searched and searched and couldn't find a good replacement (distrowatch.org mostly focuses on new linux OPERATING SYSTEM releases).

Today, on a lark, I searched again (I still couldn't believe there wasn't a site providing this news) and I just found this site! It is pretty much linux oriented -- but I'm sure if a package is popular there is probably a MacOS release in the works, and maybe even a Windows release (e.g. office packages and other things).

Just in case you have an interest in software other than only browsers.
