There's no tax in New Hampshire, but we did have to pay a $21 registration fee. I'm not counting that. We took out insurance and paid $8 extra for towing coverage... and it got used the very next day! That saved us $215. Next year, we'll drop the truck's insurance. We're keeping it until then to cover anything else that's not anticipated in this first year. But we don't intend to take it off our land again and shouldn't need it.
Our break-even is seven years. If the truck does our driveway until 2032, I figure we're money ahead.
