MT: "Fiz, do you own any crypto ? Have you conducted any transactions using crypto ?"

I have to answer those questions every year on my US tax return -- as do you. So I'm not silly enough to answer your question directly. What I will tell you is I have a very good friend who has Euro citizenship but lives full time in S. America. He isn't subject to US tax laws and his country of nationality doesn't hold him accountable for income and assets outside of Europe.

He deals with crypto regularly. And he originally corrected me when I made the same erroneous assertion about crypto that you did. He demonstrated very clearly my understanding was wrong. Later I updated him on a different issue. That's what good friendships are built upon.

Fiz, do you own any crypto ?

Have you conducted any transactions using crypto ?

Just curious. I suspect that you have not.

You have a fundamental lack of actual understanding on how the value of any 'crypto' is established.

They are created out of thin air, and have absolutely nothing behind them giving them any value.

Markets for physical goods do NOT 'establish' fundamental value - physical goods have intrinsic value in and of themselves. Housing, food, etc. Laws of supply and demand set EXCHANGE rates for those items. Currencies have governments backing them.

Crypto has nothing.
