Try agin, sir ... the question WAS, and I quote,

"What happens to the 'Bitcoins' if the Server(s) they 'reside on' get completely obliterated?"

I do believe that is a plural.

So, the answer stands - and it was a quite legitimate question to ask.

The question was, 'What happens if the server holding the bitcoins goes down?' It can't happen. Each node holds a copy of the blockchain. They'd have to all go down.

Do you remember Limewire? The music wasn't in one place. Any node on the network could provide [some of] the music, and if a given node went down, another might offer it. It's kind of like that.
