And we need to disavow ourselves of the childish-belief that the US is fundamentally on the side of "good". We are generally on the side of money. Sorry, but that is what the histories say.

...nobody is perfect, but the US is more good than evil.

...this post has nothing to do with the military. It is about religion, currently muslim which is holding the record for "most evil" for quite awhile now. Christianity is and has been evil from time to time but it is also more good than evil.

...most of the evil in the world was before I was King. Ask anybody.

Yes, of course. But you notice how this puts the lie to the idea that the US military stands up for what is right and just and democratic. The US military can be bought. Oil is a really good way to buy the US military. We have no problem with totalitarian dicators, so long as they are are OUR totalitarian dictator.

Murderous is okay. I'm pretty sure pedophile would be okay, too.

I'm not trying to pick a fight with you about the need for a military -- I think we need one, and we need it to be strong. My point is that foreign wars, where the US hasn't been directly attacked, are a slippery slope. And we need to disavow ourselves of the childish-belief that the US is fundamentally on the side of "good". We are generally on the side of money. Sorry, but that is what the histories say.
