BREAKING: President Barack Obama breaks his radio silence to hit Donald Trump where it hurts most by mocking his pathetic crowd sizes — a particularly brutal jab in the wake of his failed MAGA birthday parade.
This is just too good...
"In 2020, one person won the election, and it wasn’t the guy complaining about it," Obama said during an on-stage appearance in Connecticut. "And that’s just a fact, just like [the fact that] my inauguration had more people. I say that, by the way, not because—I don’t care, but facts are important.”
Roughly 1.8 million people attended Obama's historic inauguration in 2009. Estimates for Trump's crowd in 2017 peg the number at perhaps 600,000 people.
Trump was widely criticized during his first term when he had his lapdog Press Secretary Sean Spicer insist that his paltry inauguration crowd was "the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period, both in person and around the globe."
"You just have to flood the zone with so much untruth, constantly, that at some point, people don’t believe anything," Obama said in Connecticut. "So it doesn’t matter if a candidate running for office just is constantly, just hypothetically, saying untrue things. Or if an elected president claims that he won when he lost, and that the system was rigged. But then, when he wins, that it isn’t rigged because he won. It doesn’t matter if everybody believes it. It just matters if everybody starts kind of throwing up their hands and saying, ‘Well, I guess it doesn’t matter.’ And that’s what’s happening."
Although Obama refrained from mentioning Trump by name in his new comments— a wise strategy that he frequently deploys to deny the egomaniacal MAGA leader the attention he so desperately craves — the White House quickly hit back, proving that the remarks hit their mark.
"Barack Obama should spend less time whining about his total lack of relevance and more time figuring out why the Democratic Party’s approval ratings are at historic lows," White House Assistant Press Secretary Liz Huston said in a statement to The Daily Beast.
Of course, Trump's approval ratings have been cratering for months now as Americans push back against his deeply unpopular ICE crackdowns, dangerous warmongering, and destructive tariffs.
History will look kindly on Barack Obama and revile Donald Trump.
