Yeah ... heh heh heh ... that friend of mine who was working on the bunker buster prototype thirty-some years ago said they tested it by taking it to a desert where they built several closely-spaced, densely packed, concrete-and-metal-reinforced berms. They rigged a system where they could shoot it horizontally into this series of berms. Apparently, the damn thing sliced through 5 or 6 of these berms like a hot knife through butter and kept right on going for quite a distance beyond. He said their first reaction was, "Shit ... now we need figure out how to make sure it doesn't go too deep!"

Hmmm... What is the theory behind the 'bunker buster' ?

Inertia - high weight to get the 'buster' deep enough (ie. penetrate the ground), possibly with boosted speed, then an explosion to destroy the 'hardened shell' followed by massive explosive ordinance to do the real damage. Fair enough summary of the simplified graphic shown ?

It is assumed that the Israeli's dont have the weight carrying capacity to deliver such a heavy ordinance ?

What if they've 'refined' the bunker busting technology - and dramatically reduced the weight requirement (for high inertia/momentum penetration) ?


Example: Hypersonic ' first, second, third, fourth ... etc' stages. 10x the speed - 1 tenth the weight needed for penetration.

Just one of many ways it could 'exceed the pager tech' in wow factor.
