Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said her government is not okay with the ongoing immigration raids, claiming that they are targeting “honest” and “hardworking” individuals.
The politician made those comments on Thursday during her daily news conference, where Sheinbaum claimed to have met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.
During the brief meeting, Sheinbaum stated that they discussed various items related to the ongoing relationship between the two countries.
Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo (@Claudiashein) ~ Nos reunimos en Palacio Nacional con Christopher Landau, subsecretario de Estado, para conversar sobre diversos temas de la relación México-Estados Unidos.

Sheinbaum claimed to have taken a strong stance in condemning the ongoing immigration raids taking place throughout the United States.
“We talked about defending our migrant brothers and sisters,” Sheinbaum said. “That we did not agree with the use of raids to detain people who work honestly in the United States, that this would harm not only the people, but also the United States economy itself.”
Sheinbuam claimed that the meeting was conducted out of courtesy, as Landau was introducing himself in his new role under the Trump administration, and that during the conversation, they discussed strengthening the bonds between the two countries.
The comments by Sheinbaum come just one day after U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem called her out over her alleged promotion of the protests taking place in California and other states. As Breitbart Texas reported, on Wednesday afternoon, Noem criticized Sheinbaum, claiming that through her rhetoric, she had promoted the ongoing violent protests and condemned her behavior.
On Wednesday evening, Sheinbaum fired back, sending a social media post where she claimed to have been erroneously singled out and that in her speeches, she had condemned all acts of violence.
Okay, lady ... let's look at your argument:
1. People who break our laws by illegally entering our country and who illegally obtain fraudulent documents and licenses (i.e., Social Security cards, driver's licenses, etc.) to facilitate their stay here are NOT honest.
2. The Mexican government has a long history of being very harsh in enforcing its immigration laws against foreigners. Why is it then not okay for the United States to enforce its immigration laws against all foreigners who have illegally crossed our borders?
3. You spoke to our U.S. Deputy Secretary of State about "defending our migrant brothers and sisters," which clearly means you are acknowledging that YOUR MEXICAN CITIZENS have breached our borders and are living in our country ILLEGALLY. So, as their President, are you not willing to acknowledge they have broken our laws and are properly subject to immediate deportation? If not, you are being dishonest and hypocritical.
4. The longstanding, rampant corruption in the Mexican government and its inability to control the drug cartels inside Mexico have contributed mightily to the severe degradation of Mexican society, which, in turn, has spurred millions of your citizens to flee your sh!thole country for a better life in the United States. So, in fact, YOU, as the current head of the Mexican government, are directly responsible for the illegal invasion of our country by your citizens. But, you encourage this illegal situation because you want us to take care of a significant portion of YOUR citizenry, while they work for U.S. dollars to send back to Mexico and prop up your economy at home.
Lady, you need to quit spewing your dishonest bitching about a huge problem that is horribly expensive for us - and lucrative for you - that you helped to create and continue to encourage and aggravate. So, stick it where the sun don't shine, Presidente Sheinbaum!
