Re: “Ditto - now zooming to 150% on everything printed - and big pictures now make horiz. scrolling a pita must do.”
A lot of my problem is with the peripheral vision. When I proofread, if there's a missing (or duplicated) word, my brain knows what's supposed to be there and my eyes just don't notice the error. I really like having the computer read while I do the same. If it reads a word twice, it's hard to not notice.

READ ALOUD also keeps me focused. I have a hard time reading a five page article without stopping and thinking about other things. That five minute read winds up being fifteen minutes.

Some of the guys here have heard me say that I'm not a fast reader. I read big, hairy books but it takes a long time. This is why. I'd *LOVE* an invention that looks over my shoulder at the book I'm reading and reads it aloud while I read it. I bet I could cut my average book time down by a factor of three.

Ditto - now zooming to 150% on everything printed - and big pictures now make horiz. scrolling a pita must do.
