I don't think I understand your problem, De.
Across the bottom of my computer screen I have icons for FireFox (Browser), Brave (Browser), and Google.

DuckDuckgo is a search engine. And whichever browser you want to use, you can put DuckDuckGo in your 'bookmarks' or 'Favorites' or whatever you want to call the place with 'frequently used' links to things. You can also put Google in the same place, set the 'default search engine' to whatever you want and call up the other search engine as needed.

If I am searching for some thing technical (like how to use some thing called 'debug') . . Google search engine is likelier to find me what I'm looking for. But if it is something 'political' Google will deny me what I'm looking for and LIE shamelessly.

Re: “I have that browser on my computer. It works. its not as good as say Chrome but I have lots of very good highly rated virii protection and so forth as well.”
The DuckDuckGo browser doesn't support extensions. That's because privacy is its priority. I respect that, but it may not be right for me. I depend on some of the extensions available with Chrome.

However, Chrome has disallowed the Ublock Origin ad-blocking extension and, as far as I can tell, it's the only ad-blocker that's any good.

So I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place right now. I may need to run two browsers simultaneously - which will be a hassle.
