...college football is following them into the abyss. The money now available and the ability to swap teams willy nilly (not that any of us has ever desired to possess another teams willy nilly) is another back breaker.

...sports teams, whether they are pro or college now have the desire to have a championship team. The thing that separates them is that some want to build a team and the rest want to buy one. Fans of those teams want to win. To the fans of the teams that want to buy a championship they want to win no matter what. IMHO the folks who want to build a team and they are willing to take the time and make the sacrifices to do that. The people who buy a championship gloat when they win. The folks who build a championship team are proud when they win.
