I'm currently reading two books:

• The Good Guy, by Dean Koontz, about a hit man who is targeting a woman. A bricklayer - the proverbial 'good guy' - intercedes, quickly becoming a target in his own right. This is the first Dean Koontz book I've read and I'm really disappointed. The plot is okay, but I expected it to read like a Stephen King book. From what I can tell, Koontz lacks character-development skills. I would never say that about King.

• A Plague Upon Our House: My Fight at the Trump White House to Stop COVID From Destroying America, by Scott W. Atlas, MD. I first mentioned this book in a post from November. I'm only now getting around to it. I'm expecting it to be a quick read.

Should you decide to read it, I'll caution you that the first page of the introduction contains the dubious claim: 'That "decoupling" between cases and deaths would be to a great extent due to the successful vaccination of those at risk to die.'

I'll forgive Dr. Atlas for being wrong. The book was written in 2021, and the author was part of the Trump White House which spurred the production of the vaccines. He was biased and didn't yet know the entire truth.

332 pp.
