Hopefully, that video link will take you to "General Relativity Explained, Simply and Visually" (AKA "General Relativity Simplified" by Arvin Ash). Else, look it up on youtube -- it's worth your time.

I'm going to start off with an assumption that "inch by inch, it's a cinch!" Einstein, himself, modelled this humble but hungry approach since, when he first had the insight to what gravity *might* be, his math ability was *wholly* inadequate to the task of exploring his own intuitive vision. He spent a good portion of the next decade getting tutored in "basic" math. (Basic for a mathematician, that is).

So, I'm inviting you to actually take the first step with me, by watching this video.

What will be the second step? For myself, I haven't quite decided, yet. I know I need to get through vector analysis with EXCELLENT comprehension (i.e. not simply going through the motions by solving math problems sufficient to pass a test). From there to tensors, probably via understanding the Hamiltonian and LaGrangian lenses on Newtonian mechanics?

I expect I need to find an introduction medium which is far more *graphic* than what I find in the various books I've accumulated. I kind of need to have a felt sense of where I am going in order to motivate me to slog through the abstruse math.

Somewhere along the way I am hoping to hook up with Penrose's "The Road to Reality" before I segue into the harder stuff already sitting on my shelf snidely belittling me!

Honestly, this is driving me nuts! I already own way too many copies of books I can't fully comprehend. It is like a foreign language taunting. Anyway, following is part two of a "Road to Reality" symposium, followed by a conversation between Eric Weinstein (Geometric Unity) and Roger Penrose.
