Re: Jumper Cables and fuel pressure gauge on the dash
I'll definitely try the jumper cables, so thanks. I never would have thought that a vehicle that starts easily one day and seems to be trying [repeatedly] two days late might have a bad battery. I'm used to *click* *click* when the battery is weak. But it's worth a shot so I'll do it!

There's no fuel pressure gauge on the dash. Too bad...

Try starting it with jumper cables.
It’s possible it has a weak battery. Strong enough to crank the engine but not strong enough to energize the full pump or fuel pump solenoid.
If you have a fuel pressure gauge on the dash you can check the fuel pressure when starting. Should be 20-30 PSI. If it’s zero ya might need a new battery or pump solenoid or fuel pump.
Also check for corrosion on fuses or burnt fuses.
I had a 1997 that failed to start a few times. Took it to the dealer and they put a new battery in it which fixed the problem

Check on the Ford f-150 forum. They might be able to help ya.
