Ostensibly, visibility is the purpose of the Executive order.

What is that saying - Ya can dazzle 'em with brilliance or baffle 'em with Bullhockey.

Reading that EO, my mind went elsewhere than 'sunshine exposing' and saw 'justify those regs and criminalization by tying it back to the enabling legislation that created the crap; another veneer covering the centralization and stalizination of our deep state.' A veneer that becomes rock solid with the passage of time.

In other words, what I see as an end result is even more dangerous justification for enabling Unconstitutional actions - by saying 'Here is our legal power granted to us by Congress'. Makes it even tougher to fight it, imo, ie. aids even more weaponization of our 'federal masters.'

Thus tightens the Gordian knot that is strangling our nation.

Hundreds of thousands of pages in the Federal Register, every single year. More than ANYONE can wade thru, and the solution is to ADDD more levels of paperwork, words, and double speak ? The mountain has already blocked out the sunlight. Adding to that mountain makes things even more invisible - imo.

The laws of unintended consequences - apply liberally to ALL actions of government - no matter how well intentioned they sound.

I do not disagree that civil and criminal penalties for not following agency regulations should be set by Congress, BUT I do believe forcing all of the agencies to publicize these things for all to see, as an initial step, is a very good thing - because it subjects all of this to daylight, which hopefully (I won't hold my breath, but one can always hope!) will spur Congress to act on the most egregious of this regulatory nonsense.
