Hmmmmm. . .
How long till we can fit an entire AI on one chip?

Drone warfare over in Ukraine is getting closer and closer to your worst nightmare.

The weapons 'We' and the Chinese are developing are getting 'smarter and smarter'. The Ukrainians have what they call 'First Person Viewer' drones - the operator wears special goggles and can 'See' what the drone sees and steers it into the intended target. Long range drones might as well be 'slow cruise missiles' - program the intended coordinates of the target and send it on its way.

But at the end of the day there will still need to be 'Boots on the Ground' to actually ascertain control over the real estate.

Unless the AI revolution puts people on the endangered species list.

Zim.

What would you say if the soldier was a robot, with "AI" making its own decisions on who to kill, and when, and for what?

That "far off future" is no longer a philosophical question, it is here, now ... or at least within five years.

So I think you better rethink your idea of valor and patriotism....because the AI robot doesn't care, and it can probably kill a hundred of our BEST and BRAVEST soliders in a few seconds, without breaking a sweat.

Your "soldier" was always always more of an ideal than a reality -- because every human is different, and not an ideal, But, in any case, your "soldier" is going to be completely obsolete come tomorrow. Denying reality doesn't change that reality.

I'm interested in your thoughtful reply/rebuttal of my concern.
