That is a highly debatable subject, De.
Where there are no 'natural predators' to cull the herds and keep the populations down . . . Herd animals like deer will overpopulate and eat everything possible - to the point that they are near starving for lack of food. In which case hunters become necessary.

But I would hope that our 'mighty hunters' do eat what they kill.
