Are you saying people born in the 60's as a sixties generation.
Like Ribs, I was way before that.
Yes, by the definition of year I am technically a boomer
but a very early one. I also think there is a HUGE DISPARITY in the "boomer" generation depending on what end of the so called period one was raised.
I agree there were lots of hippies and anti-war protesters in abundance.
But most of us were NOT out being hippies. We went and did our duty because our country called. Right or wrong or something in between, we went because our country needed us for what they were doing.
The greatest generation truly had more hardships they overcame , actually THEIR parents, but they lived thru them.
NOBODY in the sixties, or almost NOBODY, was in Nam.
The war was over before they would have been old enough.
SO, if the comparison is between the worst of our generation which would be the HIPPIES who simply were afraid to fight for the country they wanted all the benefits from for being born here but unwilling to fight when called whether you agreed or not, I'll take the generation that went and fought an UNPOPULAR war and yet went anyway.
The BOOMERS built upon the foundation that our parents had laid and experienced the Korean War years.
The generation before them had WW2.
Please allow me to say this. NOBODY in a combat zone wants anyone there with them that is going to panic, run, or hide.
So I would not want anyone in the service that does not want to be there. Hegseth knows this.. Ribit knows this. ANYONE who's been in combat knows this.
