It IS a big deal. But 'restoring meritocracy' is NOT going to help those 'certain minorities'.
Far too many black people fail to learn the necessary educational necessities to learn the things necessary to succeed.
I've seen the way Asians do it. They actively work at and with their kids trying to get them ready for first grade and seeing that they do their homework.
I once did an 'informal poll' where I work. Seems most white parents read to their kids before pre-school. And far too many black mammas? "The school is supposed to teach their kids everything they need to know." And I've also read where black peer pressure is fierce - "Getting educated is acting white!"
The problem starts before first grade. When all the little kiddees reach first grade - Many of the Asians are already reading. Most of the White kids are ready to learn to read. And far too many of the Black kids have not the faintest idea what a book or the alphabet are all about.
It shows - in standardized test scores all the way up the line. It shows in SAT scores. And it shows when 'black firefighters can't pass the firefighters promotion exam'.
Ain't no amount of DEI or CRT going to solve this problem. No 'race based remedies' are going to correct it. And stealing 'other peoples money' to enrich grifters and thieves ain't gonna help either.
Black America should have began addressing this problem decades ago.
