Another $4 auction lot that comes with a Hard Drive. This time, it's a Western Digital My Essential model that, per its description, is of unknown size. It turns out to be 3 TB. I don't know if it works, but I'm happy about the capacity. It has its power supply, but I'm going to have to order the rather specialized USB 3.0 transfer cable for $10. We'll learn its status next week.

The white thing, by the way, is a Starry Station S00111 Dual-Band Touchscreen WiFi Router selling for $300 from Starry, or used on eBay for $79.99. I wonder if I know anyone who could use it.

It isn't often that I screw up on sterling silver purchases, but this time I did.

The auction lot shown includes three sterling silver spoons of a weight and size not provided. It turns out that these spoons are very small. They actually have pins on them so they can be worn as jewelry. Who would do such a thing?

I figure sterling teaspoons are worth a minimum of $10. In this lot, I had a teaspoon and a couple of baby spoons. Their combined weight should be 25 grams or so. It turned out that the largest of the three is baby spoon sized and the other two are really small. Their combined weight is 18 grams, and some of that is the non-sterling pins you can't see. Pretending that the pins are sterling, their total bullion value is $17.10. I paid $23 + 15%, or $26.45. #$^~! I hate it when that happens.

I'll keep the spoons, of course. But the costume jewelry is worthless to me. It goes to Goodwill.
