This didn't go as smoothly as it could have. The splitter near the wall was leaking, and no amount of tightening or plumbers tape or rubber gaskets helped. Fortunately, we bought two bidets at auction and the problem went away when we used the other bidet's splitter.

These are the simplest bidets you can get short of a garden hose. The water is not heated and there is no directional control on the spray. Actually, the spray can be preset to one of three directions. It's not something you can adjust during use the way you can with high end units. They, effectively, give the user a joystick for spraying here, there and everywhere, as needed.

That said, these bidets were just $15.50 apiece. They will give us a chance to decide whether we like them or hate them. (I don't think many people are neutral on THIS topic!) My guess is that we'll hate the lack of directional control, and that from November through April, we won't be fans of spraying ice water on our bums. But these shortcomings can both be fixed with a newer, $200 unit. (LOL, for $494, Amazon sells one that comes with warmed water, a toilet seat warmer, and an air dryer! I don't think we'll need all that.)

No snide comments about the dirty toilet, please. We live in the country and have very hard, sulfur-laden water. It causes stains.
