My wife did an auction pickup a few days ago that I just got around to looking at. One lot, described as "Misc. Electronics Lot, Excalibur Craps, HP Media Drive, Zire," was won for four dollars. Excalibur craps? Where does it say Exalaibur craps? LOL... [UPDATE: I forgive them. It does say Excalibur craps... in the lower, right corner.] I bought it for the drive - which I hoped would be good sized. The model number wasn't seen, so it could have been up to 750 gigs. It turned out to be smaller but still respectable. Putting it in perspective, most of my boxed-up drives are probably 10 gigs or less.

The power supply was missing, but the first one I tried worked, and so did the drive. It's absolutely loaded... 159 gigs used on 160 gigs capacity. There's so much information on it that I had no problem finding the owner's e-mail address... or, at least, her address in 2016. Does she still use it? Maybe not. Her husband died of cancer last year. She may have retired and gone away. But my conscience would have bothered me if I didn't make an effort to let the owner know what I had, so I sent her an e-mail to explain and offer to return it. After all, I think a good chunk of her life is on the drive and that's what I hope someone would do for me if I made such a colossal blunder.

Or maybe it's no blunder at all. She might have died. Or she may have backed up what she wanted.

De would have to submit some salacious home movies for our review before that determination could be made.
