Decomposed > Russia isn't strong enough to resurrect the USSR.

Apparently, Putin didn't get the memo.
Russia SHOULD have been strong enough to eat Ukraine. But it didn't happen. Putins 'Russian Army' wasn't what he thought it was. Ukraine turned out to be tougher than he thought it would be.

If putin is not bent on 'empire building' . . . then why is Poland bolstering its military?

Key Points: Poland is cementing its place as one of Europe’s strongest militaries by pledging 4.7% of its GDP to defense spending by 2025, surpassing U.S. proportions.

-With a 292,000-strong military, advanced tanks like the K2 Black Panther and M1 Abrams, and F-35 stealth fighters on order, Poland is fortifying its defense in a perilous region near Russia and Ukraine.

Re: “putin wants to resurrect the old USSR.”
If wishes were fishes, we'd all cast nets.

Russia isn't strong enough to resurrect the USSR. Not unless the other countries WANT him to recreate it, and that's not the case.

Something else you always seem to overlook: Vladimir Putin is 72 years old. He hasn't got the time to resurrect the USSR. What he could do, though, is turn the whole planet into a hot, glowing tribute to himself. That'd only take a few seconds.
