I think, De, that another interesting comparison would be American versus Chinese electricity generation per capita.

This site has an interesting graphic.

Switch it to 'chart' and I see U.S at about 12,500 kwh per person. And China at 6,635.

And, like your graph, since about 2005 China has been rapidly climbing in the standings.

This is remarkable, both because America is drawing just half the power that China is and also because of what's happening to America's power need in only five years.
