If you are a legitimate U.S. citizen convicted of a crime, you should not be sent to a foreign prison, IMHO. Now, if you are a U.S. citizen convicted of torturing/raping/murdering women, children, and/or the elderly, I still do not think you be sent to a foreign prison - after conviction, you should have your case immediately reviewed by an appellate judge or panel to make sure all was properly adjudicated ... and if they confirm you were given a fair trial, then you should be immediately executed.

Now, as for foreigners who commit crimes against the United States and American citizens, I have no problem throwing them in foreign prisons ... and if they have information that could thwart future attacks against the U.S. and its citizens, then waterboard the crap out of them.

...I don't think he could legally do it. Maybe some "domestic terrorist" types could be housed in GTMO, but that is a U.S. facility.
