Not close enough to Israeli policy to weigh the situation, but is this not just Netanyahu trying to start a war to save his own skin?
I know Hezbollah aren't pleasant neighbours, but they'll have few choices here, except to lob hundreds or thousands of rockets into Israel. And then things go towards the usual escalating tit-for-tat situation.
