That would be great.

Trump maxes out at around 47% so he's going to try to define Kamala as awful in every way so she doesn't get the 53% which she might. The good news is, Trump's game is all so obvious and when it's obvious it doesn't work so well. Meanwhile, with luck, his 47% collapses.

A 6 point overall win is enough to make her president, even in the swing states.

Harris vs. Trump latest presidential polls: Headed to a blowout? Here are recent numbers that support it

In the ABC/Ipsos poll, Harris leads Trump 52%-46% among likely voters

Harris also holds leads in all but one of the seven swing states: Michigan (+2.4%), Wisconsin (+3.2%), Pennsylvania (+1.2%), Nevada (+0.7%), Georgia (+0.5%), Arizona (+0.3%). Trump leads in North Carolina (+0.3%), but even that advantage has been evaporating steadily.

On a Labor Day when Harris and vice presidential nominee Tim Walz campaigned in several states and Trump was inactive, voters have been more impressed with the Democrats’ campaign.

“Notably, 93% of Democrats and 56% of independents rate Harris’ campaign positively, as do 24% of Republicans in this poll, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates with fieldwork by Ipsos,” ABC reported. “Fewer across groups see Trump’s campaign positively — 79% of Republicans, 38% of independents and 13% of Democrats.”

If the polling is correct, Harris might surge even more next week: By a 6-point margin, 43%-37%, the public picks Harris to win the ABC News presidential debate on Sept. 10 — 86% of Democrats expect her to win the debate, while 79% of Republicans expect Trump to win it. Independents pick Harris by 7 points.

There’s more good news for the vice president and Democratic nominee. In national polls recognized by the New York Times poll tracker as “more reliable,” Harris held a one-point lead in surveys by Quinnipiac University and Emerson College.

Emerson’s state numbers were more favorable to Trump, who led in North Carolina (+1%), Arizona (+4%) and Wisconsin (+1%), while Harris was ahead in Nevada (+1%), Georgia (+1%) and Michigan (+4%), with Pennsylvania even.

A Suffolk University poll, sponsored by USA Today, gave Harris a five-point national lead.

“The findings reflect an eight-point turnaround in the presidential race from late June, when Trump had led President Joe Biden in the survey by nearly four points,” the newspaper reported. “Among those with annual incomes of less than $20,000, in the biggest change, a three-point Trump edge over Biden in June has become a 23-point Harris advantage over Trump in August.”
