Voters Say JD Vance Is ‘Anti-Woman’ and ‘Weird’
Democratic attacks on JD Vance appear to be doing the trick, according to a report. Centrist Democratic pollster Blueprint ran two surveys on Donald Trump’s running mate—one in July, two days after Vance was chosen as Trump’s VP pick, and another two weeks later in August. When given a list of options to describe Vance in August, the most common answers were “conservative,” “anti-woman,” and “weird,” according to Semafor. The percentage of respondents calling him “extreme” reportedly rose by 13 points while more positive terms like “young,” “smart,” and “businessman” dropped from July. The pollster also looked into which of Vance’s statements voters were aware of and how they reacted to them. Of the statements offered, participants were most aware of his “childless cat ladies” remarks—50 percent of those surveyed said they’d heard the comments and 55 percent said they were bothered by them. “Everything has gone exactly as bad as Democrats had hoped and Republicans have feared and everyone suspects,” Evan Roth Smith, Blueprint’s lead pollster, told Semafor.
