I don't see "not drinking" as virtuous. But I know what you are saying.
Drinking isn't a good thing to do if you are addicted to it. And drinking and driving is obviously risky for everyone, so not a good idea. Sounds like Walz enjoyed drinking too much and needed to stop doing it altogether.
