It was an absolute slaughter.

The scale of the loss is so great that I think they'll need to rethink their whole policy platform. I really hope they don't heed the siren call of the US GOP and turn populist.

But, of course, it won't be long before the electorate hates the new incumbent party. So first they have to make themselves look competent.

Yep. Labour will win a huge majority.

The left of centre party held together.

The right of centre vote was split in two. Recombined, the Labour win would have been much smaller.

We'll have a higher tax economy now for a while.
