The way they are going, they want a minimal federal government, and where it suits them, states being in control. For instance, the abortion issue.

But when it doesn't suit them, such as making decisions about who can stand for the presidency in a state, such as Colorado, then they pass the power back to Congress.

The inconsistency smells awful rotten. It has the look and feel of politics to me, not an unbiassed approach to the constitution.

And again, this is primarily a political issue and not a constitutional or legal one.

This SCOTUS doesn't trust the people to choose. It puts its thumb on the political scale.

It ought to be okay to disagree about whether to regulate industries, and for the decision to be made in Congress.

It's not SCOTUS' job to make those decisions on behalf of everyone.
