Laura Garcia-Caro was seen smiling, punching the air and sticking out her tongue.
The celebration was short-lived as Lyudmyla Olyanovska from Ukraine raced passed her to grab the bronze medal with just two meters left.
Garcia-Caro's face went from ecstatic to horrified.
The women were speed walking for nearly an hour and a half.
