Putin's just throwing away Russian lives in his attempt to take Kharkiv.
But I don't think he has the capacity to succeed. It isn't just the human cost. He's losing tanks and artillery in large numbers. And I don't think he can replace them at the same rate.
So inevitably, as Ukraine receives more and better equipment and ammunition, Russia's army will start to weaken and crumble. I am hoping this is their last effort and that as the army runs out of steam, they decide they can't win.
But this also depends on the West continuing to fund the war.
