I think maybe the devious, underlying plot is to get liberals to leave the US!
The US social conversation is like revisiting the seventeenth century.
Over here, abortion arguments are the preserve of cranks and catholics, a small minority. It's just not in the mainstream.
The question I have is, will Americans in Republican states wear it. Or over time, will they return to something more like a balance via the ballot box. If they do, then this will just seem like a weird period of abnormal regulations.
It's a very sad thing that rather than listen to people and adapting towards what the majority want, Republicans try to cheat at elections and now are leaning against democracy itself. Their ideas aren't very popular when exposed to daylight.
