Local Sportsman, Hunting/Fishing club used to hold Shark & Stingray Derbies out here in Tamales Bay, we'd go out, buddy had a airboat so we could get out on the shallows, caught a few, learned a lot about them, discovered they are tasty, but no bones, lots of gristle to make up for it, not worth it, other than a novelty... Sharks, stingrays don't have any predators so they can wipe out the food for sport fish, so it was an attempt to level the filed a bit.. Wife hauled in a 150+ pounder, won her a prize, a new Penn reel... But over the years, interest waned... I gave all our fishing gear away to my brother, he was commercial, likely traded it for what he needed...
