There have been several legal experts who, over the last few days, have suggested that this is perhaps the stupidest trial so far. All Navarro had to do was plead the 5th and that there would not have been much that the House's January 6th committee could have done about it. In fact, him refusing to comply with the subpoena was really the ONLY thing that the committee could take action on, and they did.
It's now going to cost Navarro hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees and perhaps as many as 24 months in prison, and all for what? I mean, it's not like he never told anyone what happened and what his role was in the lead-up to January 6th, since he wrote a book where he revealed exactly what happened, and he's been a guest on dozens of cable-TV shows where he was very candid about what he was planning before January 6th, and defending what happened afterwards.
