BREAKING: Mother of 6-year-old who shot Virginia teacher pleads guilty to child neglect
The mother of the 6-year-old student who police say intentionally shot his first-grade teacher at a Virginia school in January pleaded guilty Tuesday to a felony child neglect charge and could serve up to six months in prison.
Deja Taylor, 26, pleaded guilty as part of a plea deal that dropped a misdemeanor count of recklessly leaving a loaded firearm so as to endanger a child, which would have carried a potential six-year prison sentence.
