U.S. allies beef up their borders as Wagner fighters move west
The deal to end Wagner's short-lived rebellion and send the mercenaries to Belarus has added a destabilizing element to tensions between Moscow and the West, compounded by Russia's own plans to bolster its borders. Poland's ambassador to the United States told NBC News it was "imperative" that his country not only defend itself but also protect NATO’s eastern flank, after it was announced it would send 10,000 troops to its border with Wagner's new host.
