Only a year or so in our first home, 1000sf Young America, glued to the TV, watching it all unfold... Definitely memorable..

Still driving a '57 Chevy 2 door hardtop Bel Air complete with the gold trim... Had sold my '53 Triumph T110, 40 ci, as family, work left it dusty in the garage... Not long after, I traded the '57 Chevy to a buddy for a '54 Chevy PU, needed more...

Who knew what lay ahead...

I know that this is a bit late in the day, but where were you 4:17pm EDT on July 20, 1969, 54 years ago today (I realize that probably only a small number of people on this site will even be able to answer this question)?

This was the moment that the Apollo 11 lunar module landed on the moon.

I was working my summer job in Saginaw, Michigan (I was in engineering school at the time) and had rented a room from my cousin who lived in Midland (it was about a 25 mile drive, one-way). It was a Sunday afternoon and it seemed that everyone in the neighborhood was outside, either listening to the radio or watching on TV's that had been brought outside. It was as if the experience was greater if you could look up and see the Moon while all of this was going on.
