A side note: Our #2 son's wife has sort of 'inherited' a neighborhood 'supermarket' very similar to the one in the original story, only in a much nicer part of LA. Her uncle asked her to take over the store about four months ago as his wife, who was running it (he has his own store at the Los Angeles Farmers Market) was in poor health and needs to retire but he's trying to keep the store in the family. Anyway, they just applied for the licenses and such so that they can sell Lotto Tickets. Our son, who's a graduate of the CIA (Culinary Institute of America), has already converted one of the spare rooms (their store consists of four connected storefronts) into a bakery and is starting to sell artisan breads and other baked goods, as well as gourmet sandwiches from a small lunch counter that was already part of the store.
