"The Tennessee Three should’ve been cheered, not subjected to votes of expulsion. Gloria Johnson survived by just one vote. Justin Jones was thrown out. The difference? He is Black. This is racist autocracy in service of the gun lobby. Shameful. Democracy is dying in Tennessee." - Laurence Tribe

Racism may be the explanation. But even I can spot another difference between Gloria and Justin. There may even be further reasons.

Not only that, but Tribe seems to be aiming his accusation at the one swing vote and it might be worth examining that person's justification rather than assuming his/her motive.

This sort of auto-labelling is just like Rush Limbaugh's method. Tribe is way too smart to engage in it.

From this weak premise, he concludes that democracy is dying in Tennessee. It may be. But you need to line up your ducks to produce this troubling conclusion.

And yes, I am very much against the gun lobby and find the expulsion of the three democrats abominable (unless there is a disruptive explanation, which clo thinks is not the case here).
