It really shouldn't be the job of the courts to make Republicans truthful and open. Republicans should be truthful and open in the first place.
But at least having gone through these motions, there is legal precedent in place and it will be harder for a future president to demand behaviours that were previously performed assuming office-holders were trustworthy. That will help protect US democracy going forwards.
Another thing that will protect US democracy is indicting presidents who behave illegally. Even while president if the behaviour is egregious. But the issue of how you remove an obviously corrupt president remains unresolved because impeachment clearly doesn't work. And even after they cease to be president, the DOJ is ridiculously slothful.
