I certainly can see why many people want to live in a traditional way, without she/hes, theys and thems.
And that they want to continue the tradition of muscular individualism, differing male and female roles, Christian faith and morality and so on, with guns expressing a freedom of some sort, alongside the idea that governments don't interfere overmuch and taxes are low.
It's just that the world is awfully complicated and a lot of people want different things, which means trying to find novel solutions as new issues emerge.
But here we have a trans person using guns in an act of cross-party savagery. A new sort of problem possibly expressing a frustration that we haven't seen before.
Not sure where America is headed.
