BREAKING: Mexican cartel apologizes after two Americans were killed during armed abduction
The Gulf cartel blamed for abducting four Americans in Mexico and killing two of them has apologized.
The cartel condemned the violence in a letter obtained by The Associated Press and said it had turned over members who were involved. A senior law enforcement official told NBC News that U.S. authorities believe the letter is legitimate.
