This is the saddest story of police brutality of them all. It's sad because it sounds like he was a gentle, vulnerable, decent person and the assault wasn't done because he was black but just because that's what they do. I say that not because I am indifferent to violence against black people but because maybe racial violence is treatable. But if it's just terrible bullying of a terrified, innocent man who had gone to photo the sunset and who was desperately calling for help from his mum, what hope is there? Human nature has reared its head and it is just brutal. It feels a bit like it would if he was my child, for some reason.
