It's optmistic. But if Putin sees that Ukraine is developing a really powerful tank force, he may realise he can't win.
At some point, he has to be worried that Ukraine may invade Russia. Securing Russia's borders will seem like an attractive option at that point. But first boot him out of Ukraine.
