True, De.
and if I thought the world would be a safer place if the U.S. did reduce the size of our armed forces I'd be all for it.

But . . . We got pirates off the coast of Somalia (and a couple of other places). We got Russia trying to expand their empire by force of arms. We got China practicing Sun-Tzu and trying to expand their empire. We got the islamics who would love to re-institute their 'Caliphate' (empire by another name) . . . And the list does go on.
