When Ukraine wins, which it will eventually, Russia will no longer be a threat for at least a generation.

That will be a cheaper proposition for the US than always having to build defences against both Russia and China.

Maybe China will also decide military confrontation isn't a great path to follow.

The future peace is worth America's support today. As well as that of Britain, Poland and Germany, who have also made significant contributions to Ukraine's defence.

Exactly.

He might even mention that Ukrainians are contributing the blood price of the war, which is far the greatest cost for a country to pay. And they are paying it for everyone's freedoms, not just the Ukrainians'.

It's really like the Athenians at the Battle of Marathon, where the superpower invaders were the Medes and Persians.
