Nice framing...

"Your money is not charity, it's an investment in the global security and democracy that we handle in the most responsible way."

Exactly.

He might even mention that Ukrainians are contributing the blood price of the war, which is far the greatest cost for a country to pay. And they are paying it for everyone's freedoms, not just the Ukrainians'.

It's really like the Athenians at the Battle of Marathon, where the superpower invaders were the Medes and Persians.

"Fighting at the forefront of the Greeks, the Athenians at Marathon
laid low the army of the gilded Medes."

He spoke, to rapturous applause.

Some days, the real, great America shows itself again. But it is a shame it takes someone from overseas and outside the scope of domestic conversation to do it. That, or a war for the country's survival.

If only the US had a unifying body in its structure that could bind the country together where poliics ends. But everything in the US is political where people are involved. Even baking cakes.

I think the presidency, the senate and the supreme court were all intended that way. But sadly, none of them is.
