Finding a path to a decent Republican Party is the big ticket project. So you want to be rid of crazies like Palin and elect the most moderate available Republicans like Murkowski.
It's going to be a long haul to cure right-of-centre America.
The Dems want to contain its own tendency towards identity politics. But that's a much smaller task, in my view. And other than Bernie Sanders, there aren't many who believe in socialism in the Democratic Party, in spite of the silly labelling by GOP propaganda radio.
